The Shrewsbury Ark is a day centre for the homeless and some
of the most vulnerable members of the Shrewsbury community, offering them
advice and support in a warm and welcoming environment. The Shrewsbury Ark
seeks to help those who feel excluded from society back onto their feet; and it
will encourage in its clients the self-confidence and self-sufficiency to be
able to secure a place to call home and thrive positively within their
community.
The Shrewsbury Ark provides the basic things most people take for granted. Our
clients rely on us for warm clothes, bedding, personal items and a hot meal or
cup of tea and a chat when they need it. Working with a wide variety of
organisations, if our clients want expert advice or intervention, we are here
to support them to access the help they need to move forward with their lives.
We offer an environment to change positively and develop life skills. The
Shrewsbury Ark operates an outreach programme and aims to provide ongoing
support when people move into their own accommodation.
The Shrewsbury Ark operates with a team of 7 paid staff (full and part time)
and 40 volunteers.
We are looking for an outreach worker who can successfully implement our vision
to enhance our services and join our staff and volunteers as we work through
