Salary: £9.36 - £10.76 per hour.

Location: Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright, Dalbeattie and Dumfries and surrounding areas.

We are looking for caring, highly motivated and reliable people to join our team to provide care and support with daily living tasks according to each individual’s personal care plan, allowing our service users to live independently within their own homes. Previous experience is not essential as we provide a comprehensive induction and training programme ensuring that our Home Care Workers feel supported and confident within their role. Job description

  • To provide assistance with personal care and other daily living tasks to service users as identified by their assessed need, which will allow people to live independently in their own homes.
  • To work in partnership with service users, informal carers and other agencies to empower and encourage choice to maximise independence. There should be ongoing communication with line managers when required and a commitment to team working and support.

Key responsibilities

  • To undertake personal care and support service users with daily living tasks according to their personal care plan including administration of medication, continence management, stoma care, mobilising, food preparation, transportation amongst other tasks.
  • To work at all times according to company policies and procedures, Health and Social Care Standards and Care Inspectorate guidelines.
  • To encourage choice and independence for all service users.
  • To work as part of a team by developing good working relationships with colleagues and other professionals
  • To communicate effectively with line managers in particular regarding changes concerning service users
  • To use the on-call and emergency procedures as guided
  • To attend all mandatory training, team meetings and supervision sessions as required
  • To accurately complete documentation, including service user records, personal timesheets, mileage, holidays and availability.
