Job Role: Waking Night Therapeutic Care Assistant 

 We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Waking Night Therapeutic Care Assistant in a Residential Care Home for young people and adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism (ASD) challenging behaviour and other Mental Health issues.

As a Waking Night Therapeutic Care Assistant, you will work to support the young people by:

 

Key Accountabilities


·         Support Service Users at night, keeping young people safe at all times

 

·         Undertaking cleaning duties, maintaining good hygiene and cleanliness of the unit.

 

·          Able to work long hours shift from 21:00-09:00, which you would remain to be awake.

·         Develop strong interpersonal skills and solid relationships.

·         Maintain administrative systems, confidentially and accurately.

·         Work effectively both on your own and as part of a larger team.

·         Develop strong teamwork, effective communication & value diversity.

·         Support your colleagues by delivering support to service users

·         Fostering a safe and secure environment within which staff may develop.

·         Attend team meetings and training events.

·         Comply with standards set by Independence Development Ltd and your unit manager.

·         Comply with regular supervision and appraisal arrangements.

·         Ensure your unit manager is aware of all relevant service delivery developments.

·         Liaise with others to ensure effective levels of care.

·         Maintain staff rotas, staff files and service users’ records

·         Maintain confidential files and prepare reports as required.

·         Provide individual care and support including:   Personal hygiene, dressing and toileting.

·         Assistance with meal preparation

·         Administering prescribed medication

·         Ensure others are not at risk and attend work reliably and punctually.

·         To undertake any other duties as designated by Unit management

·         You will be expected to achieve skills and qualifications appropriate to your role.

·         Keep up to date with policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation

·         You should be willing to learn as every day can be different. We will help you complete the care certificate modules, other mandatory training in care, Therapeutic training and an NVQ qualification.
