Job Description: Business Development Manager

Responsible to: Directors

Responsible for: Heads of departments

 

As one of Edinburgh’s leading providers of home care, Social Care Alba delivers a wide range of care services which help people to stay in their own homes for longer. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our exciting, friendly and dynamic team.

 

Key Responsibilities

Managing the Heads of departments, ensuring effective staff:

  • Learning & development
  • Supervision & performance
  • Mentorship & sharing of skills and knowledge
  • Use of best practise and research throughout the company

Managing the company’s annual improvement plan, ensuring:

  • Agreed KPIs are met
  • The workplace is dynamic and inclusive
  • Care Inspectorate grades remain at 5 or higher
  • Contracts with EHSCP are achieved and maintained

Managing workflow across all Departments, including:

  • Participating in the on-call rota
  • Driving efficiency, and business growth 
  • Managing risk as well as health and safety 
  • Providing advice to the Heads of the departments
  • Designing and implementing the Annual Improvement Plan
  • Chairing and contributing to meetings in the absence of the Directors

What we are looking for

Essential

·         Understanding and knowledge of all legislation related to the role, health and safety and risk and management

·         Detail oriented, easily adaptable and an active listener to work under pressure

·         Self-motivated and able to work as part of a dynamic team with initiative

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to communicate in excellent English across different audiences

·         Excellent time management, accuracy, planning and organising skills

·         Excellent I.T. skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages

·         Previous experience in a similar position

·         Previous experience in managing, coaching and supervising staff

·         Previous experience in Business management and growth

·         Degree in Business Management and Leadership

·         Edinburgh based

Desirable

·         Previous experience in the Health and Social Care sector

·         Qualification in a Health or Social Care specialism
