Job Description: HR Manager

Reports to: Business Development Manager

Responsible for: HR department

As one of Edinburgh’s leading providers of home care, Social Care Alba delivers a wide range of care services which help people to stay in their own homes for longer. We are looking for an HR Manager to join our exciting, friendly and dynamic team.


Your role

Key responsibilities

Ensuring effective delivery of HR services, specifically:

  • Compensation & Benefits 
  • Performance Management including KPIs 
  • Mentorship & sharing of skills and knowledge 
  • Handling Grievance and Disciplinary processes
  • Design and delivery of Induction and Learning & Development plan
  • Adapting HR best practices and research throughout the company 
  • Developing, Evaluating, and Implementing a Recruitment & Retention plan


Managing workflow across the HR Department, including:

  • Designing and Leading HR Projects
  • Attending, and contributing to meetings
  • Completing admin tasks on time, every time 
  • Updating electronic records including Staff Handbook, Offers & Contracts of Employment
  • Assisting with the creation of Annual Improvement Plan and strategic business development


This list is not exhaustive and from time to time you may be required to undertake additional duties. We will provide full training in line with regulatory requirements.


What we are looking for

Essential

·         Understanding and knowledge of all legislation related to the role and of best practices within HR and health & social care

·         Detail oriented, easily adaptable and an active listener to work under pressure

·         Self-motivated and able to work as part of a dynamic team with initiative

·         Good interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to communicate in excellent English across different audiences

·         Good time management, planning and organising skills

·         Excellent I.T. skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages

·         Previous experience in managing and supervising staff

·         Previous experience in Business management and growth

·         Previous experience in a similar position

·         Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, equivalent to CIPD level 7

·         Edinburgh based


Desirable

·         Previous experience in the Health and Social Care sector

·         Qualification in a Health or Social Care specialism
