Job Role: Support Worker

Responsible to: Team Leader

Responsible for: Personal support

 

Job Description - Support Worker :

The role is to support groups to socialise with them in our spaces, in the community and in events. 

You will have an understanding of social care and meeting individual needs is essential and be confident with facilitating and support groups.


Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • To be an effective ambassador in all activities 
  • Work effectively both on your own and as part of a larger team.
  • Develop strong teamwork, effective communication & value diversity.
  • Support your colleagues by delivering support to service users
  • Advocate for service users, assisting them to access other resources.
  •  Provide individual care and support to people    
  •  Help with forging/maintaining community links.
  • Organise time and resources reflecting the individual needs of service users.
  • Promote equality, acknowledge individual differences and uphold peoples’ rights

 

Administrative:

  •  You will be expected to attend all training as required
  •  Ensure others are not at risk and attend work reliably and punctually.
  •  Keep up to date with policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation
  •  Comply with standards set by the company and your line manager.
  •   Comply with regular supervision and appraisal arrangements.
  • Your work will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays

·         To undertake any other duties as designated by line management.

·         To have a registration with SSSC or other registered body

 

Personal Specification


Skills:

  •   To be able to adapt to changing priorities.
  •  Ability to plan and organise your workload effectively.
  •  Communicate effectively in both written and oral English.
  •  Good IT skills required and an understanding of Google Drive system


Knowledge:

·         An ability to learn new skills and knowledge.

·         To undertake training which supports the needs of the company.

·         An ability to independently develop your own skills and knowledge.

 

Experience:

Supporting children /or adults out and about in the community
